I purchased this for my mom and she said it came packaged nicely in a box that said "Made in China." I am not sure if the pan itself or just the box is made in China because I didn't see it? I know that the actual non-stick coating was made in Germany. Maybe its all assembled in a factory in China? She also said the two "bolts" that are welded to hold the handle in place are slightly loose. I think she will be able to still use the pan so this is why I gave it only 4 stars. However, the color of the pan is just lovely & bright! :O)

So the pan works well, just wanted to mention that only the coating is from Germany, not the pan since it is made in China. I was personally drawn by the reputation of German products, but it doesn't have the well-made feel of a German product. Nonetheless, it works well considering the price, and the fact that it was made in China doesn't really bother me, it's simply that the advertising is deceptive and I wanted to point that out, so minus a star.

Brand new, this pan performs as well (in terms of not sticking) as a set of <Expensive-cookware-brand-that-costs-a-lot-more-than-this> Teflon free nonstick pans I had before. No surprise there. The textured sear worked well, getting the meat nice and brown. What seemed particularly great, though, was that I deliberately stressed the pan (heating it up empty on high before adding food) in a way that had discolored and damaged those old frypans from the beginning. This pan stood up to it with no apparent damage, even on close inspection. I wouldn't make a habit of doing that, but so far they seem very durable, more so than any other non-stick I've owned. I'm thrilled!

(One note - the textured ceramic is a little harder to clean than the smooth. Food slides off of both, but getting soap out of the crevices was more of a chore. Not unexpected, but something to consider when you decide which style of Green Earth pan to buy.)

I have now bought and used all three sizes of the Green Earth pans - the 8 inch, 10 inch and the largest 12 inch - and am happy with all three. I first bought the 10 inch pan to replace a non-stick pan that I had burnt. Fearful that I had damaged the surface permanently and exposed harmful chemicals, I shopped around for one that was PTFE and PFOA free and settled on the Green Earth pan. My 10-incher has a very smooth surface and feels almost slippery to the touch. I only use a little bit of oil and everything, eggs included, have slipped off the pan beautifully. The 8 inch and 12 inch ones have a textured surface (there are tiny hexagon shapes on the surface that protrude very slightly) but work just as well. Most of all, I have peace of mind knowing that I am using pans that are non-toxic and safe. I use them nearly everyday and so far, I am very satisfied. I am hoping the pans last a long time and I don't burn them by accident!

UPDATE 4 months: I wish now that I had bought a NON-textured pan. Sweet drippings of some foods slip into the tiny hexagonal recesses and adhere themselves and begin to build up a sticky glaze while you cook. Several washings with various soft cloths and non-stick-safe scrubbers can't coax all the final thin black crust out of their six-cornered hideaways. Thinking the Greblon had lost its quality, I looked into enameled cast iron, and there I l found of a pan-saver: 1 TSP BAKING SODA to 1 TBSP WATER (&/or vinegar): BOIL in pan until those pesky flakes float free; wipe up when cool enough for a newly-smooth pan. (Sometimes this takes a while and more baking soda.)Is it still non-stick? Well, the smoothness of the finish can be restored (so far), but it seems the textured nooks undermine the finish. I can still make some foods well and even easily in this, but sometimes the crannies can be a chore.UPDATE 1 month: Neither vinegar, nor hot water, can get off brown residue from a batch of apple french toast stuck in-between the "textured" indentations. I think I've owned the pan now just a little longer than refund. The upper edges are still silky smooth. I've only used soft sponges and soft cloths inside.UPDATE: After about three weeks, eggs started to stick a bit. I wiped it down with vinegar as someone else had suggested. Next time I made eggs, I used a tad more butter/spread and a slightly higher heat (360

I've had this pan for almost a year and just ordered 2 more for gifts. The first time I cooked chicken in it we were amazed how juicy and flavorful the meat was. Food doesn't stick, it's easy to clean and the coating is non-toxic. Perfect! Love this pan and recommend it to everyone.

I purchased the 12" Green Earth Frying Pan by Ozeri after receiving and using the 10" pan just like it. I love the textured ceramic non-stick coating and have found that it works great for everything I have cooked in it. I read the directions carefully and have had no problems with anything sticking. I try to cook healthy and it helps to have pans that don't give off toxic fumes or peel off bits of the coating in the food. I know that when the pans are hot, it is a bad idea to put cool or cold water in them (as would be for any type of frying pan). I have ruined several non-stick pans over the past years, letting them get too hot. That will make them bow up in the middle of the pan, and of course the non-stick doesn't work any more.

I love my new pans and plan to take very good care of them. It is just common sense to read the directions for how to care for them. I am enjoying cooking now that it is so much easier. Also, using the right utensils is important-- nothing metal goes in my pans. The green color is also nice in my kitchen with my black appliances.

I couldn't be happier with these pans. The best I have ever had (and I use them every day and have already given them a good workout).

Review by Catman : Amazing Non-Stick Performance Initially

Other reviews would suggest that the non-stick properties don't last but at first it's amazing. Even water doesn't want to wet the surface. We fried turkey sausage and clean-up with a sponge and soapy water hardly seemed necessary. It's nicely made and heavy with some classy looking machine work on the bottom. My only complaint is the deceptive advertising and packaging. The Amazon description says, "From Germany" and the box it comes in says "From Germany" no less than 7 times. So it's German made, right? WRONG! Small print on the bottom of the box says "Made in China." "From Germany" apparently applies to the coating material only. Still, it's very well made, just as good or better than if it were truly a German product and likely at half the cost. How long will the non-stick properties last? Time will tell.
