Review by Deployed wife : Awesome
My husband is deployed and I am pregnant so cat litter and I aren't buddy buddy. Anyway we tried the Scoop Smart: waste of money, messy, more work than a traditional litter box. Then I came on here and read all the great reviews about Omega Paw. So I talked to the hubby and went to Petsmart to get one right away as I was so tired of the cat clamps all over my floor. I couldn't believe how quick and easy it was to set it up. I tried the rolling thing to do and not one grain of litter fell out of the box. Then my female cat went in to do her business and she seemed very content. I am just so relieved that I won't have to get rid of my cats because of the fear of toxoplasmosis. Simple system but smart system!

Review by Robin H : Instructions for assembly
Little instruction comes with this product so these are the assembly instructions found on the manufacturer's website. Hope it helps.
Litter Box Instructions
1) Place the base of the litter box in front of you with the opening lip facing towards you.
2) Place the bottom of the grate between the two plastic holders in the base of the box. (Note: The side that states "Bend Here - This Side Up" is facing your left side)
3) Bend the grate towards the right side of the box.
4) Starting at the back of the litter box, press the grate into the groove located on the top of the base.
5) In one continuous motion, press the grate into the groove from back to front. Do not press from the middle out, as this will not lock the top of the grate into the top of the base.
6) Place the top of the litter box onto the base. Make sure the latches are pulled back to ensure they slide into the slots in the top of the base.
7) Slide all of the latches across to lock the top onto the base.
8) Place the Scoop into the open slot located on the right side of the box.
Setup of your litter box is now complete.
To operate the box, properly follow these instructions:
1) Face the front of the box with the cat opening facing towards you.
2) Roll the box halfway to the right (180 degrees). Note: Do not roll the box too quickly as it will not have enough time to separate the clumped litter from the good litter.
3) Roll the box back to your left to its starting position.
4) Remove the Scoop with the clumped litter and dispose of its contents accordingly.
5) Place the Scoop back into the slot in the litter box.
6) Roll the box a quarter of the way to your left. This will cause the kitty litter to come back out into the box.
Please Note: A clumping litter is needed in order for this product to work effectively.

Review by A. Christopher : Love It, Need the right kind of litter
I don't sing the praises of a product unless it really impresses me. But the Roll 'n Clean is worthy. Oh yes. Let me preface this review by emphasizing just how much I HATE scooping, and I'm not a hateful person. I used to put off cleaning my cats box for a week or more because I just didn't want to deal with it. (Yes I know, bad pet owner, I'm sure PETA is sending over a strike force rescue team as I type this.) But then I found the Roll and Clean. Here is a list of things that make it simply awesome.1. No Scooping (Obvious I know but worth repeating.)2. Reduced smell. No more smelling the cat box from the driveway. (This is probably just a side effect from me cleaning the box more often than before.)3. Cuts cleaning time down by roughly 60% opening up your schedule to clean up the cat vomit on your nightstand.4. It VERY affordable. As in less than $50.5. I love it. Possibly more than I love my cat.6. My cat loves it, most assuredly more than she loves me.What you need to know. When I first got the Roll 'n Clean I was using Feline Pine cat litter because I try to be environmentally friendly or at least convince myself that I am. However that litter was way too light and so it wouldn't filter properly. You had to actually pick it up turn it on its side and physically shake it to make it work. So it became basically a giant enclosed scoop. So I switched to Swheat scoop which is a wheat based litter and that worked like a charm. There is the problem of the more wet clumps sticking to the bottom of the box, but you don't need to bang the bottom of the box to shake it loose and you definitely DO NOT need to get out the cursed scoop. I simply invested a $1.00 on a long handled spatula and as I roll it over I just reach in without removing the lid and with one quick flick of the wrist all the cling-ons come free. If that seems like too much work for you there is another litter called Worlds Best that should minimize the cling-ons.

Review by E. A. Nevis : The "jeep" of self-cleaning litterboxes (more useful than a "cadillac")
(I foster rescued cats and kittens, so I get a decent statistical sample of [rear]end-users). This is my absolute favorite litterbox, and I HAVE used pricey automatic ones.Pros::) Incredibly elegant design (in the engineering sense of "elegant"): simple, robust, and effective. Hardly anything to go wrong, and on the off chance it does, it's easy to diagnose and fix.:) The "daily sift" takes SECONDS, doesn't aggravate my knees, shoulders, or back, and I can confidently do it in nice clothes.:) My "tunnelers" (mostly girls) don't kick half the litter out every time they use it (as they do even with other hooded boxes).:) Cats who like privacy are comfortable with this box.:) No electricity required!:) Skinny drawer pours waste neatly into the narrow mouth of a LitterLocker II.:) Between cleanings, things (including cats) can rest on the top flat surface.Cons::( You do need clumping litter with small, smooth, somewhat weighty granules (though there is some non-clay kitten-safe litter now that fits the bill: see Nature's Miracle No-Tracking Clumping litter). Other plant-based clumping litters are OK but the sifting isn't as efficient and more clean litter gets thrown out. BUT:( The plastic top and bottom sometimes have gaps that leak those ideal small granules on the floor when the box is on its side for cleaning or its back for topping-up.:( Because it's mostly enclosed, smells can build up inside before a human passerby notices, to a level where fussier cats might "think outside the box.":( You can miss "cling-ons" if you don't look carefully. Tunnelers and wheat litter each increase cling-on invasions.:( If you're in a hurry and forget to shake all the clean litter back into the main chamber at the end, the cats are stuck with an effectively empty box.:( Cats who are paranoid about being ambushed while using the box (mostly boys) don't care for the limited angle of vision and lack of an alternate exit. Of course, you COULD leave the lid off and just put it on while you clean the box - EXCEPT:( The latches holding the top on seem to be rated for maybe 10 engage/disengage cycles before they break.:( Not a lot of useable (by the cat) space in there, so it can fill up kind of fast, and young siblings who like to "go" together are more likely to catch each other's fallout.:( Not (yet) compatible with any of those marvelous "hide-the-litterbox" cabinets, ottomans or end-tables.My work-arounds:;) Squishable waterproof weatherstripping to fill in gaps between the top and bottom so litter doesn't leak out;) Big binder clips to hold the top & bottom together if a latch breaks or won't work with the weatherstripping;) A little non-stick cooking spray on the inside bottom surface (Chanel No. WD-40 is not popular with cats) and a spritz of non-toxic deodorizer when cleaning.:) If you tilt the top partially or completely up to placate an open-box enthusiast, put a high-performance-duct-tape hinge along one edge. It helps the top "clamshell" back into place for cleaning without much wrestling.Omega Paw: You have a very good product. With sturdier and better-fitting parts, perhaps an even bigger "family" size, and an option to raise the esthetic bar beyond that obvious-plastic-litterbox look, you'd have a truly great one.

Review by M. Greenwood "Raven Lunatic" : Fantastic! With 2 small issues
All the other positive reviews cover the best parts of this litter box. Some people mention one or two problems, I found they are easy to fix:1. If one of the locking clips breaks, put a piece of duct tape or electrical tape over it. Keeps the whole thing together and I don't care how it looks, I only care that it works.2. If you feed your cat wet food more than dry food, their feces is softer and it most likely will get caught in the grate or on the sides. If you feed your cats dry food and they're indoor cats, nothing sticks at all. Also note: 1 of my 2 cats urinates on the grate sometimes. If I see litter sticking to the grate, I take off the top and put the grate under hot running water, then spray with a disinfectant spray and put it back in.I sprayed the entire inside of the box, the grate and the drawer with Armor-All, the stuff you use on car dashboards, then buffed it. (I also use that on my shower curtain bottom to prevent mildew from gathering.) It works like a non-stick pan! Once it's dry, it's safe for the cats. This is a wonderful product for seniors and those with physical challenges! I am disabled with arthritis and spinal conditions, I can lean against the wall and flip the box with my foot. But my daughter loves the "roly poly" box and will do it herself most of the time! :)

Review by B. Hayashi : I haven't used it yet, which is why I'm writing this review!
Huh? Well, let me explain...We purchased this three weeks ago. Quick shipping. This litter box is so good, I haven't used it yet! Now what do I mean by that? Well, let me tell you why I bought this.We are a family in flux right now. My oldest son will be returning to college next fall and my next son will start college next fall. They are the ones who previously cleaned the cat box. My 12-year-old daughter will not touch the cat box. My wife hasn't cleaned the litter box for years because "it's not her job." So, since the litter duties will be falling to me, I started on a search to do this easier and more efficiently. Especially since I will also be going back to school to get a doctorate. Don't want to spend an inordinate amount of time doing something like...CLEANING THE CAT BOX! Ech-h-h-h.Nix on all the automated litter boxes. Mechanical parts that can break down and, oh, by the way, don't do a good job anyway. Ask the people at PetSmart--they get returns on these all the time. One promising one is the Litter Robot LRII Automatic Self-Cleaning Litter Box. It has very high reviews. But it is a whopping $320!!!Then I found this litter box. It is only $32. It basically uses the same principle as that $320 LRII. But no electric parts to break down and is 1/10th the cost. It also has very high reviews.OK, so why and how could I possibly give this product such a high rating when I haven't even used it? Well, THAT'S THE VERY REASON. When we received the Omega Paw litter box, I put it together in about 5 minutes, put in the litter, and showed my wife and explained to her how easy it would be now to clean the litter box. Before I could even try it out, she beat me to it and was totally amazed at how simple, quick, and painless it was to clean the litter box. It was even fun! She says that for a chore that was totally unpleasant to become something so incredibly easy is like an empowering victory! THIS IS HILARIOUS!I have yet to try this litter box out. My wife keeps beating me to it. We used to have two litter boxes because of our four cats. My son HATED to clean it out with that amount of feline waste to clean. Stinky. Dirty. Yuck. My wife does it now. It takes her all of 1 or 2 minutes to do. After reading online reviews from a lady who had an army of cats and says that two of the large sizes would be sufficient for all of her cats, I just purchase one large one and it is indeed big enough. Especially when you clean it so often. (As my wife does.)So, this was a WIN-WIN purchase for me. I will not have to clean the litter box because my wife receives such a sense of gratification doing it. And even if I do get the chance, I know that it will be a cinch. Buy this!

Review by Suzydrew : BEST EVER!!! Don't waste your $ on expensive litter boxes!!!
FAN-FLIPPING-TASTIC!!! I am very excited that I no longer have to get close to cat poop, my basement no longer smells like cat poop, and I spent under $40 for this to happen (that really is the best part)! I almost bought one of those "flushing" litter boxes for almost $400 - the reviews of "baked turds" really wasn't too appealing - thank goodness I came across this! I figured for the price, I could live with myself if it sucked. BUT it is great - it is simple to put together - my 2 cats took to it immediately (and they have never even had a lid on their former boxes, or shared) - you can use the same old clumping litter you used anyway - it is simple and fun to clean :) Okay, the "fun" part will probably fade, but it's like having a new toy for a bit - you'll be rolling the box a lot just to see if theres clumps! LOL! The reason it does smell better, is probably because I actually do clean it more than I did the other litter boxes. It really made cleaning 100% more bearable. I think my cats are only a little confused because they are not use to such a clean box. And to make cleaning even better - check out the $1 store in the baby section for a box of 100 individual little scented "garbage" bags (meant for diapers - so you know they will work on cat poop too) - and when there's poop in poop tray just slide the little bag over it and dump in the poop. If you are debating, you shouldn't - just BUY this litter box and throw away your pooper scooper forever!

Review by Martin A Hogan "Marty From SF" : No Bags - No Scooping Wonderbox!
Length:: 1:23 MinsThis litter box will eliminate any future need of stinky scooping or broken plastic bags. It is all self-cleaning. I wanted to show in the video first how it is constructed. The main box contains the litter and there is a folded screen that fits snugly on the right side that you can see me installing. The lid goes on easily and snaps tightly with four sliding clasps. Insert the litter scoop tray and you are done. The second part of the video shows how the litter is sliding into the slotted screen leaving the clumps on top which then roll over into the long tray. When you roll the box back, the clean litter from inside the screened area and around the litter tray moves into the main area again. A little shake and the litter is even again.
Actually, I have about one inch too much litter in here. It requires very little. The last part of the video shows just how easy it is to roll it one way and roll it back. Pull the tray out and dump it. It is all that easy. That's my polydactyl Bengal `Bopper', by the way, watching me clean up after her.
1) Roll to the right.
2) Roll to the left.
3) Shake litter even.
4) Empty tray.
5) Pet kitty.

Review by J. Simonson : Easy to change but still messy.
First the good: this litter box is very easy to change. It takes just a minute or so, and you don't have to scoop anything. As a result, I probably take out the cat litter about five times as often as with the old box.
The bad news is that one of the clips that another review mentioned broke within a month or so of our purchasing the box. I repaired it with a twist-tie, and it seems fine now. Even before the clip broke, however, there was some leakage around the seam in the box when it is tipped. The result is a significant amount of cat litter on the floor that must be swept up regularly. Finally, a door would be helpful in minimizing unpleasant odors.

Review by annie marx "annie" : i love this litter box!!
we used to have a standard litter box with lid and liners, which was a PITA to scoop/empty/clean on a regular basis, not to mention, it always got rather stinky, regardless of how much you cleaned it.we switched to this box after reading the rave reviews, and i'm totally pleased! it makes cleaning the litter box a snap, and it works really well, considering the price! we were looking at a self scooping box that was going to be well over $150 so we decided to try this one first.we use this box with the arm and hammer clumping cat litter and it works fine. occasionally, we throw in a bit of the arm and hammer litter deoderizers, but that's more for my personally satisfaction.overall, i wish we would have brough this box years ago! i have been recommending it to all the cat owners i know. not to mention, you can't beat the free shipping offered by AMAZON!
